And out of mind
For the next four days, I will be basically unreachable by 21st century standards. I’ll be taking a nose dive back to the Spanish civil war – more specifically, to August 1936.We’re (my class and I) are going to be doing something we call “Living History”, which is exactly what the name says; we’ll be living history. We have been researching the Spanish civil war and creating our own characters (I’m a doctor, 25 years old, married for 2 years to a 40 year old herbologist). Monday through Thursday we’ll be spending on a farm from 9-17, living in the Spanish civil war.
It’s an improvisation exercise that is designed to show us exactly how much work goes into creating an entire new human being with its own thoughts and opinions of the world. East 15 is the only acting school that does this, so we are quite privileged and very excited.
In context
to this, I will keeping my mobile phone switched off for the next four days.
Our teacher said we were free to do as we wished after we get back from the
farm for the day, but encouraged us to stay away from too many modern devises
for our own sake.
So, don't freak out if my mobile phone is continuously out of reach.
